Methode

From the outset, the research team at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology in Frankfurt/Main has worked in close collaboration with the Zurich Academy of Art and Design and an international group of cultural producers and theorists. Together they combine research in the social sciences, media studies and humanities with artistic and media productions in order to investigate representations and the representability of migrant experiences. In doing so, the TRANSIT MIGRATION team aims to develop new strategies of (re)presentation that go beyond traditional academic perspectives and are better suited to the dynamic nature of migration as a transnational phenomenon. They want to re-examine the visibility and visualization of migrant practices in the context of their intimate and ever-changing interactions with the emerging EU border and migration regimes and their key players.
