Cartographies of autonomy

Other projects will concentrate on the "autonomy of migration", locating it and differentiating between its local manifestations within the border regime of Southeast Europe. It is difficult to find representations of migrant tactics and survival strategies that show these to be part of an autonomous, transnational phenomenon. It is equally rare for the media to focus on the rationale for, and organs of, migrant control and stratification, such as detention camps, prisons and housing, borders, passports and police procedures.
